Often times this device is of such poor conception and construction that not only is it inconsistent with society and the world as it is, but also becomes a fulcrum for “justifying” the choices the protagonist makes, which in turn somehow manages to get the main females of the game to make unrealistic choices(aka sex in the classroom). I mean, isn’t half of the genre name made up of the word “novel”? Did that somehow get overlooked, or am I overthinking things? Even worse is when they try to add some kind of plot device in order to make their work unique. In all honesty, just what the hell were these people thinking when they approved of the story?
